St. Patrick's Day Concert with the Twang Gang
A roaring full house at Sally's Grill enjoyed the Irish music concert last Friday. The crowd enjoyed good food, good company and excellent music. Thanks to organizer Stephanie Olson, and thanks to Sally for hosting this lovely event. The Twang Gang played and sang with guitars, a Celtic drum, a violin and a ukulele.

CMESS Christmas Party
The staff of CMESS enjoyed a lavish rib dinner at Sally's Grill to celebrate the holidays, and I'm sure each and every one is looking forward to that last day of school, and will enjoy a much needed break. Thank you for all you do for our kids!

Silent Auction Prize for Tahsis Days
This is one of the exciting prizes donated to the Tahsis Days Silent Auction, courtesy of Tahsis Time Grill, Tahtsa Dive Charters and Shorebird Expeditions.
The silent auction is open during Tahsis Days from 2 pm until 6 pm on Saturday July 18th and Sunday July 19th.

Fathers Day Weekend Special: Honey Whiskey Baby Back Ribs with Garlic Thyme Hasselback Potato, cucumber salad and grilled bok choy;
Chicken Gumbo Stew over Basmati Rice,
Beef & Portabella Mushroom Lasagne;
and Grilled Chicken Dinner.
We have donuts fried to order with Chocolate Espresso dipping sauce, TTG's famous Roasted Balsamic Strawberry Profiteroles, and a delightful Chocolate Orange Bundt cake.
All freshly prepared in house. Dinner Friday & Saturday evenings from 5:30.

Author Reading at Tahsis Time Grill
A crowd of about 15 people enjoyed a visit from author R. J. McMillen reading the newest book in her Dan Connor mystery series, Black Tide Rising.
This new mystery is set in our area, and starts out with the disappearance of a woman on Nootka Island. Rachel, the author, has spent decades sailing in the Pacific Northwest and beautifully portrays the tiny remote communities she has visited and researched.
Along with the complimentary coffee and tea, there were gorgeous fruit or cookie platters or other desserts available, many thanks to Chef Silvie and staff for hosting such a lovely event at Tahsis Time Grill.

CMESS Graduation 2015
Congratulations Ciara and Sam, your graduation ceremony was a beautiful occasion.
The graduates offered heartfelt gratitude to their school, their teachers, their parents, their friends and their town. During the speeches it was made clear these two positive leaders will be missed in our school culture. Both students were rewarded with numerous scholarships for their hard work, excellent grades and community involvement.
A large and generous team of volunteers were responsible for decorating, and assisting Santos Sharma from Oceanview Cafe put out a delicious meal of salad, pakoras, samosas, and a rich butter chicken over rice with naan bread. Several of the younger high schoolers acted as serving staff, and ran back and forth tirelessly serving our delicious meal. There were people in the kitchen finishing up the dishes until late in the evening. Alyssa Russell, Ciara's younger sister, provided the gorgeous cakes.
So, Sam and Ciara, it was a treat to meet your visiting families, and show everyone just how proud we all are of you both. Much love to you, and good luck as you venture out into the world as adults. In the words of Fern Eastcott, our school board trustee, "You are always welcomed to your home town of Tahsis. You are never alone."
