Please be advised that high winds have resulted in significant fallen trees/debris on roads and highways throughout the North Island. Several road and highway closures have been implemented overnight, including:
- Highway 19N between Port McNeill and Campbell River
- Highway 28
- Highway 30
- Head Bay FSR
- Coal Harbour Rd
- Zeballos FSR
Our maintenance contractor has set up road closures and checkpoints, hazard assessments are underway and when conditions permit safe access crews and subcontractors will begin clearing trees/debris. We are aware of power outages and will continue working with BC Hydro to coordinate their assessments and repairs. Wind warnings remain in effect currently, with peak winds expected this morning and easing into the afternoon.
Further updates will be provided as conditions change, and current information is posted on DriveBC.
Thanks,
