Tahsis is a remote village on the west coast of Vancouver Island. With only 400 residents, we don't have many of the conveniences of larger towns but we do have community spirit and lots to do in our spectacularly wild and beautiful environment.

Community Tourism Coordinator position extended
I am pleased to inform you that Island Coastal Economic Trust has extended the funding for Kira Marshall’s position as the Community Tourism Coordinator until the end of August, 2022. Kira will be out here in April to meet with local businesses in person and is planning targeted webinars and workshops for stakeholders for the upcoming months for all things digital. After a winter break, Sally's Grill reopens today (Saturday, March 26) and tomorrow will be the beloved eggs benny day. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 10-2 and 5-7. Open Sunday 10-2 and closed on Mondays.

Heber River Bridge closure
Heber River is located 10 km east of Gold River. The bridge will be closed for repairs on March 17th from 9:oo to 11:oo and from 1:oo to 3:oo to all but emergency vehicles.

Senior Tax Help

Our team at Chan Nowosad Boates is happy to be doing complimentary tax returns for low income seniors again this year.
We have a few options available to your residence to complete their T1 Income Tax Returns:
- By Mail: seniors can mail in their documents to 980 Alder Street, Campbell River BC V9W 2P9 by March 18th 2022. Once we have prepared the Income Tax Return we will mail the return to the senior for signing, flagged with sign here stickers and a return envelope including postage to insert the signed package into and mail back to us.
- OR we will email the tax return for digital signing (access to email on a mobile device such cellphone, iPad/tablet or computer required)
- OR they can come sign in person by appointment between Monday March 28th through Friday April 1stbetween 9am-5pm.

I have included the Seniors Tax Checklist here to assist the residence gather their items. I have also included a Blank Authorization form required for all new clients to CNB which will allow us access to the Canada Revenue Agency as their representative.
