ADVANCE ELECTOR REGISTRATION

Call or visit the Village of Tahsis municipal office 250-934-6344 to find out if you are registered to vote. The office is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).

Advance non-resident elector registrations will be accepted at the Village of Tahsis Municipal Office until August 25th, 2026. Non-Resident Elector registrations will not be accepted during the period August 25th, 2026 until October 17th, 2026, except on voting days.

ELECTOR QUALIFICATIONS

NON-RESIDENT PROPERTY ELECTORS:

· 18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election or assent voting; and
·  a Canadian citizen; and
·  a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
·  a registered owner of real property in the Village of Tahsis for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration; and
·  the only persons who are registered owners of the property, either as joint tenants or tenants in common, are individuals who are not holding the property in trust for a corporation or another trust; and
·  not entitled to register as a resident elector; and
·  not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or assent voting and not otherwise disqualified by law; and

·  if there is more than one registered owner of the property, only one of those individuals may, with the written consent of the majority of the owners, register as a non-resident property elector.

LIST OF REGISTERED ELECTORS

Beginning September 1st, 2026 until the close of general voting for the election on October 17th, 2026, a copy of the list of registered electors will be available for public inspection, at the Village of Tahsis Municipal office, during regular office hours, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Before inspecting the list, a person must sign a statement that they will not inspect the list, make copies, or use the information included in the list except for the purposes of Part 3 - Electors and Elections of the Local Government Act.

REQUEST TO OMIT OR OBSCURE 

An elector may request that their address or other personal information about them be omitted from or obscured on the list of electors. The elector must contact the Chief Election Officer or the Deputy Chief Election Officer to make this request

OBJECTION TO REGISTRATION OF AN ELECTOR

An objection to the registration of a person whose name appears on the list of registered electors may be made in accordance with the Local Government Act until September 11th, 2026. An objection must be in writing, and an objection may only be made by a person entitled to be registered as an elector of the Village of Tahsis and only on the basis that a person whose name appears on the list of electors has died or is not qualified to register as an elector of the Village of Tahsis

Road work announcement

 Mainroad will commence hot patching the Conuma hill (34-35kms) beginning on Monday July 13^th.    Grading began yesterday.

Mayor’s report for July 7, 2026

I am happy to announce that the Grease Trail to Woss Lake is open for hikers, although the official opening has not been announced yet by the Mowachaht Muchalat First Nation. This trail was long used by the MMFN and the Namgis First Nation as a trade route across Vancouver Island, terminating at the mouth of the Nimpkish River south of Port McNeil. The hiking trail portion is about 16 kilometres long, with an elevation change of 550 metres and terminates at Woss Lake, with the remainder being a lake and river traverse. It is accessed from Tahsis by taking the side road by the Tahsis Landfill gate, to a parking lot. There are composting toilets at each end, with camping at Woss Lake. It features old growth forests, waterfalls, faces carved into trees by First Nations over centuries, and a glacial river entering Woss Lake. The view of Rugged Mountain from the lake is truly spectacular.

We had an excellent turnout for Canada Day, held at the new visitor centre and museum. The building renovations are now complete and the visitor centre is open for the summer. Renovation costs were about $500,000 and were funded by the provincial government. The museum portion will gradually be repopulated with displays and fully reopened by next year. It will be divided into four themes: natural history, First Nation history, European contact and mill history up to the present. 

Since my last report, the boat launch ramp has been reopened. Further modifications including installation of the launch float and washroom build and are still pending.

​ My Little Co-Star

​First and foremost, I am a mom to a beautiful 6-month-old baby girl. She is my absolute priority #1. Because she is so young, there will definitely be times during our appointment where I need to pause, soothe her, or tend to her needs. If you are on a tight schedule or looking for a completely uninterrupted session, I might not be the right fit for you—and that’s totally okay!

​ The Vibe

​My lash studio is set up right in my living room. It is incredibly comfortable, relaxed, and laid-back, but it is not a typical commercial salon. Think of it as hanging out at a friend's house while getting glammed up.

​Good lashes take time! Please plan accordingly when booking:

​Fills: 1 to 2 hours

​ Artist vs. Technician

​I consider myself a lash artist, not a technician. I want to be fully transparent: I am not certified. However, I was an esthetician in my 20s and have been doing lashes on myself and others for many years. You are in experienced, passionate hands!
