Wind warning issued for:
West Vancouver Island, B.C. (081400)
Current details:
Very strong northwest winds.
When: Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night.
Where: West Vancouver Island, especially along exposed coastal sections.
Threat: Potential power outages, downed branches.
A cold front will sweep across the south coast on Tuesday. Following the front will be strong northwest winds reaching 80 km/h along the west side of Vancouver Island. The strongest winds are expected along exposed coastal sections. The strongest winds will develop through Tuesday afternoon, continue through Tuesday night, then begin easing early Wednesday morning.
Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
