For most of the past year, out of respect for our smaller and more remote communities with limited medical resources, I decided to suspend my visits to many parts of our riding of North Island—Powell River. My staff and I have been working from our homes or our Campbell River office in keeping with recommendations from public health officials to minimize the risk of unknowingly spreading the virus. As your elected representative it is my job to hear directly from you, and I have missed engaging directly with residents in our small and remote communities. That’s why I’m hosting a series of community-specific zoom townhalls over the next couple of months. We can still connect with each other in a virtual space! I invite you to join the discussion and tell me about the federal issues that are important to you. The townhall for the areas of Gold River, Tahsis, Zeballos, & Kyuquot will be held on Monday, February 8 at 4:30pm on Zoom Click here to register to participate You can find a list of other community townhalls here. I hope you’ll be able to join me. Sincerely, Rachel Blaney |
