I was one of many who received the Caring Canadian Award after being nominated by Breakfast Club of Canada, with whom I've been volunteering for 5 years. It was very humbling to meet and listen to the stories of the other recipients, and I loved the experience of the ceremony.
I'm very grateful to be a part of the CMESS team as a parent and a volunteer. Our educators in Tahsis work very hard to give the very best to each student and foster a culture of inclusiveness, curiosity, kindness and a love of learning. I know these kids take these traits with them when they leave and the positive impact this has on the world around us cannot be measured. Making sure there's something to eat every morning helps everyone behave better, learn better and feel better.
I love being a small part of our school's success, and I was proud to represent our many Tahsis volunteers that day.
