13 talented women have met in the CMESS school kitchen to sew all week, uninterrupted by everyday life. Their work is just beautiful! Some are finishing up projects started long ago, and some are working on new designs. Some are gifts, some are for charity and some are future family heirlooms. They have fabulous communal meals (some delicious vegetable soup on the stove, and apple crumble bubbling away today while I visited) and enjoy the company of visitors, former and current Tahsis residents. Even though it's a retreat-style vacation, they sure get a lot done!
If you are interested in meeting some of the sewing or needle arts enthusiasts in Tahsis, a great time and place is the weekly Ladies Craft night held every Wednesday from 7-9 pm at the Recreation Centre. It's a $2 drop in fee, and you bring whatever you are working on, sit and chat with the rest of us.
