VIRL's Holiday Money Hangover workshop
The party’s over, the damage is done and it is hard to remember exactly what happened. It would be nice to sit back and relax, but if you are stressed about your holiday bills, relaxing is probably the last thing on your mind. What can you do to stop the vicious cycle of falling into debt every holiday season?
Our Holiday Money Hangover workshop focuses on how you can pay off your holiday debts and how you can plan ahead so that you’ll never accrue this type of debt again.

January's ZOOM bingo
ZOOM bingo will take place on Tuesday, January 25th at 7:00. Cards will be on sale at the Tahsis Building Supply starting on Tuesday, January 18th until about 2:00 on the 25th. $1 per card. Emergency notifications
During the latest power outage, those registered with SRD emergency got calls telling us when the rec centre was open for warming and food. And when the tsunami was warned, those of us who chose that option also got a warning phone call.
If you are not registered and would like to get information during emergencies, sign up at the website below. Note: you have to look for and check the tsunami warnings in addition to Tahsis alerts.

Update on power outage
Message from Mark T. At 10:00 this morning. (Mon.)
Just spoke with Ted Olynyk. Weather (freezing rain) prevented crews from choppering in yesterday and today to do the recce on the downed line. They have crews on the ground but it will be slow going. He agreed with my opinion that power will not be restored today. If weather improves, they will scramble a chopper.
