How to be a seaweed farmer

 Are you interested in becoming a seaweed farmer?

This virtual 2-day workshop is a great place to start!
May 19 & 20, starting at 9am PDT


Team members from the science and operations teams at Cascadia Seaweed will share experiences, lessons, challenges and milestones from their first two seasons as seaweed farmers. The host, Karen Elgersma, will facilitate the workshop and moderate questions from the audience, and her team will record the workshop.


Participants can expect to gain an understanding of the basics cultivating seaweed in this 2-day virtual workshop, shared from the perspectives of a start-up company in British Columbia, Canada. 


The Chief Science Officer, Dr. Jennifer Clark, and engineer and Operations Manager, Matthew Obee, will be joined by team members Daniel Pedde and Kennedy Nikel.


Dr. Louis Druehl and Dr. Patrick Martone will each provide a keynote address, and Dr. Colin Bates will share his knowledge of site selection. Two industry North American leaders have also been asked to participate.
