An update on the CUT (Community Unity Trail) from Mark Tatchell

“The next phase of the Community Unity Trail linking Tahsis and Zeballos is currently underway.  Onsite Engineering Ltd and Ehatis Resources Ltd. are brushing sections of the Little Zeballos main, preparing the bridge design and stream crossings, conducting the environmental assessments of the new trail sections and preparing the recreational trail application under the Forest and Range Practices Act.  This work is largely funded through grants from the provincial government (a 100% grant from the Rural Dividend Fund  of $91,000) and Island Coastal Economic Trust ($15,000 grant to be matched by the partner communities).  The project is a partnership of Tahsis, Zeballos, the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation and Ehattesaht First Nation. “
