Tahsis is a remote village on the west coast of Vancouver Island. With only 400 residents, we don't have many of the conveniences of larger towns but we do have community spirit and lots to do in our spectacularly wild and beautiful environment.

Tahsis 2017 Slugfest
The Tahsis Community Garden Society put on an amazing event again this Tahsis Days with the always popular Slugfest! Kids of all ages hunted slugs, collecting them up to feed to the local ducks. One special duck named Dudley came to visit the garden and the kids enjoyed seeing him and also Aubrey's rabbit, who Gabe named "Grey". There were delicious snacks, including beautiful fruit kabobs and lemonade, a storybook corner, and some painting crafts. In honour of 3 year old Willow's birthday, some cake was passed around also. Thanks to the organizers of this wonderfully inclusive and fun event for all ages! It was the best day to show off the hard work the gardeners have done to create such an inviting and lovely space.
