Summer Solstice Celebration at the Tahsis Community Garden

The Tahsis Community Garden Society and guests enjoyed a party Tuesday night to celebrate the summer solstice.  The garden looks beautiful this time of year, and everyone is looking forward to their crops flourishing as we start to enjoy the warmer weather.

Rita shared a Green Man blessing and a garden prayer, declaring the garden to be a sacred space, and we were well fed with communal dishes at the pot luck, including scalloped oysters and homemade ginger beer.  The fire took the chill off once the sun started to set, and some of us had a little croquet match.

As a former member, I enjoyed touring the garden this year and seeing all the hard work that people have been putting into the space, I especially love the new asparagus bed for the Farm to School program at the school.

Thank you to the Tahsis Community Garden Society for hosting such a lovely event.  For more information on the Tahsis Community Garden Society, check out the blog
