Gareth Hurwood Concert

A wonderful time was had tonight at the Rec. Centre, as about 20 people came together to listen and sing along with Gareth Hurwood.  Gareth is part of the band Black Angus, who often play at the Irish Times Pub in Victoria, but he comes up to Tahsis to visit friends and play for our town.

He sang and played a number of original songs, and old favourites.  There was a special song he's written for Tahsis that details the unique experience of driving our tree to sea road, dodging logging trucks and graders.

He ended the evening with a heart-wrenching version of Supertramp's Goodbye Stranger, and with a foot stomping version of Barrett's Privateers by Stan Rogers.

Thank you to the Tahsis Literacy Society who sponsor Gareth's concerts here, and to Anne Cameron who is the friend who introduced Gareth to our town.
