2017 Salmon Derby Summary




“IT Really is ALL about the FISH”
2017 Salmon Enhancement Derby was a roaring Success!!!
Yes we raised $40,333.33
Yes that is the largest amount ever raised by this Derby
Yes that is $4,588.33 higher than 2017
Yes lots more volunteers involved in the inter-workings of putting on the event. And raising the $$$
Yes it is a 12.8+% increase over 2017
Yes some of the best weather & tides ever for Fishing/Catching at the Derby
Yes the 1st Chinook weight in on the 1st day at 10am Won the Chinook 1st place.
                  “ Way to GO Bruce Blakely – Largest Chinook “
Yes Area 25 (Nootka/Esperanza) benefits Greatly as a direct result of the derby
Yes 6 regional rivers & local hatcheries in Area 25 will receive funding.
Yes 2 million additional salmon will be put into Area 25’s waters.
YES “It is ALL About the FISH”
