CMESS Acknowledges Anti-bullying Pink Shirt Day

The students and staff gathered together to hear grade 11 students Andie and Marion speak about the origins and meaning behind Pink Shirt Day, the anti bullying movement that originated from students in a Canadian school, but is now an international event.  Each kid then customized a pink shirt poster with a personal message to display in the hall.

The staff and students work very hard at CMESS to preserve the climate of respectful inclusiveness and the celebration of diversity, and our little school enjoys a reputation of having kind, thoughtful and supportive kids, who love to engage with people from all walks of life or circumstance.  This is no fluke, this is due to the tireless efforts of the staff, who provide examples and guidance, teaching our students to be empathetic global citizens, as they grow and learn.
