There's always great snacks at the garden! Thanks to the Village of Tahsis for the leftover zucchini from the zucchini races. They were used as kabob holders for the fruit, then taken home by a visitor to fry up! |

Alice, Ellen and Agatha, we were so glad to see our old friends again! Agatha was our very first gardener when the raised beds were built in 2010. Alice has done a lot of work at the community garden in Zeballos. |

Gale Bates and one of her many interesting displays
Our garden enjoyed a visit from Gayle Bates, Comox Strathcona Waste Management Contract Waste Reduction Educator! Gayle was fun and engaging, and spoke to us about recycling, waste reduction, composting and more! She shared tons of prizes and words of wisdom and encouragement.

It was so hot, thankfully there was plenty of ice cold lemonade for everyone. Thanks to the Olsons for lending us your dispenser, and thanks to CMESS for lending us the cups so we could continue to be "trash free" in the garden. |

Gayle brought lots of crafting fun for everyone |
One important fact about our 4th annual Slugfest. There was not one
slug to be found ANYWHERE! It has just been too hot and dry. Caleb, who was our grand champion at our 1st slugfest was really hoping
to find one, but he had no luck. The only slug to be seen was this
wonderful knitted slug, made by the talented knitter Janet Kirsop.
Andrea won him in the draw.
