Today was our first day for our Farm to School Lunch Program at CMESS. It was hugely successful; students of all ages and visitors enjoyed the vegetarian roasted tomato garlic soup with cheesy rye bread and Caesar salad.
This is an ongoing twice a week program to make and serve healthy soup and salad lunches to CMESS staff, students and visitors at an economical price. We try and feature local ingredients whenever possible. This week we are using local thyme, bay leaves, potatoes and eggs.
We welcomed three new volunteers today, so thank you very much Mary, Tina and Spencer. Thanks also to regular volunteer Janet who came in to support us as well. A big thank you to Corinne in the office for all her work behind the scenes also. Well done, everyone!
