Tahsis Beach Seine Day 3 this Thursday

Join the NSWS this spring as we aid in coast wide efforts to determine where and when juvenile salmon use this valuable habitat.

This project is meant to help the NSWS engage with the community with hands-on learning about the habitat in our local estuary and the species that rely on it, as well as collect spatial and temporal data on out-migrating salmon smolts to satisfy data gaps in the multi-stakeholder WCVI Marine Risk Assessment.

The perfect opportunity to get outside with your family and learn something about your local ecosystems. Meet at West Bay Beach at 9:30am on the above dates.

Refurbished LFL

The Tahsis Literacy Society financed the building of the Tahsis Little Free Library. That was four years ago so Lori Bennett gave it a spruce up. TLS also granted money to buy 50 paperbacks from Coho Books so it‘s full of new titles. Take a look when you’re down by the post office. (Thanks to Silvie for the photo.)
