Tahsis is a remote village on the west coast of Vancouver Island. With only 400 residents, we don't have many of the conveniences of larger towns but we do have community spirit and lots to do in our spectacularly wild and beautiful environment.

Young Woman from Tahsis Meets with the Royals and the PM
Congratulations to our very own Tahsis youth Kaitlynn Van Solkema who was one of the people chosen to represent the Junior Canadian Ranger program while meeting with the visiting royal couple, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, in Vancouver last weekend. Kaitlynn is a thoughtful young woman who was there to discuss issues that our young people face, and is an excellent ambassador and representative of her generation and her hometown.

Tahsis Community Garden Society Potluck
About 25 people gathered tonight for a delicious potluck supper. The garden was too wet, so thank you to the Tahsis Seniors Society for allowing us to use your club room. Many of the dishes had community garden herbs, greens and produce in them. Thanks to the organizers!
