Prepared BC has just launched a new Severe Winter Weather and Storm Preparedness Guide. This guide is a must-read for everyone living in, and visiting, B.C. through the winter months. It will help people prepare and know what to do during severe winter weather, storms, and power outages. Please see below for resources available to you to use and share with your network:

Summary of Salmon Enhancement Derby
Hello All
Subject: Salmon Enhancement Donations
It been a very busy, crazy and rewarding season.
Wet Cool Spring and one of the longest summer weather events ever.
The very Good news is we saw costumers we have not seen in years from
all over CA & USA along with MANY new customers.
All in all, it was an excellent Fishing/Catching season & good for FUND RAISING !
As many of you know, we have been raising fund for reginal Salmon Enhancement since 2004.
It has been an interesting, fun, and rewarding ride. To date we have distributed $800K+
We will restart in early June our annual BBQ contest fund raiser after a 4 yr break in 2024.
Our plan is to bring that event back on Saturday June15, 2024. Come Join the FUN, FUN!
We were very fortunate to be able to have the Salmon Enhancement Derby this year
in the Tahsis School gymnasium. BIG turn out for the awards Banquet & Fund Raising.
Tahsis Regional Salmon Enhancement Fishing Derby & VIP Donor board Raised $52,692
the most ever raised.
The allocations this year will be as followed:
Tahsis Salmon Enhancement Society (TSES) = $23,692
Nootka Sound Watershed Society (NSWS) = $22,000
Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF) = $3,500
Sport Fishing Institute (SFI) = $3,500
Total = $52,692
Thank You for your 19 years of support for this important economic and social
driving force here in our region.

Without your (Many helping hands) these programs could not succeed.
Let us not forget the many individuals, companies, lodges & resorts, trusts,

Thanksgiving at Esperanza
Sunday October 8, 2023 there will be a Thanksgiving gathering at Esperanza for any locals who would like to join us for the day. There will be boats available for those who need a ride... pickup times will be posted here later in the week. (Probably nine and ten o'clock.) Or bring your own boat if you wish. We have a service at eleven o'clock, turkey and the trimmings at one o'clock.... please join us if you have the time. Come on the early boat for coffee and cinnamon buns and an opportunity to visit your neighbours.
