The lady that bought the Antonsens house is asking to help spread the word that her cat escaped today while they were moving in. It's a black cat with a grey spot on its chin. Her name is Freckles. If you have seen her please contact Janice at 778 554 0413. Moved into 182 Alpine View (across from the building supply).
Tahsis is a remote village on the west coast of Vancouver Island. With only 400 residents, we don't have many of the conveniences of larger towns but we do have community spirit and lots to do in our spectacularly wild and beautiful environment.

Boaters should exercise extra caution due to possible debris in the ocean. If anyone comes upon debris or a container please do not touch or move this material. DFO is asking people to call the Coast Guard Pollution line at1-800-889-8852 to report any sightings of containers and as this is the spill reporting line for CCG.
Additionally, there are links below to the CCG social media sites, the information published here is accurate and the most current information available as approved by Unified Command (therefore also as current as any information I could share). The DFO Comms team and the Joint Information Centre have done a fantastic job, understanding how important public-facing information is in a situation like the ones we’re facing right now.

Heber River bridge closure
Surespan Construction is currently working on the replacement of the Heber River Bridge for the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. The Heber River Bridge is located approximately 10 kms East of Gold River on Provincial Highway #28, British Columbia.
As part of the continued work, Surespan will need to complete a full closure of the bridge between the hours of 11am and 1pm on November 1st, 2021.This specific closure is required to be able to install the temporary detour bridge structural steel. Traffic, with the exception of emergency vehicles, will not be able to cross the bridge during the hours above.
If an emergency vehicle is required to cross the bridge, Surespan will work diligently to remove crew and equipment from the bridge to facilitate crossing. Please keep in mind that this process may take a little time to complete but we will endeavor to do so as fast as possible. Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we work to complete the project as fast as possible.
