Summer Market

As Judy said, “Isn’t it nice to have a poster about something that’s not COVID.”

On Saturday, August 29 an outdoor market was held in the area by the fish cleaning building.

The original purpose was to get rid of some items Tahsis Artisan Coop members were not able to sell because our shop was closed this summer because of COVID. We had six tables and a good crowd. All we were missing was a food truck. Maybe next time.

Richard Illes passes

Richard Illes, long-time Tahsis resident passed away on Thursday, August 28. Birte, his three sons and daughter-in-law Lisa had taken care of him at home for two weeks.

Pete's Farm retreat

A group of gentle people from the Centre for Spiritual Living had a four day retreat at Pete's Farm. They worked in groups on consciousness skills.

In exchange for use of the space, they did some heavy work.
They built a sign at the entry,
weed whacked a large area,

removed a fence that had fallen into the river,

built a bench.

As we are always told to do, they left the place better than they found it. Thanks.
Here's hoping this is the start of a long process to clean up the site.

Conuma Hatchery in running for a donation

Directions from Lauren: Thanks Stephanie! They don't have it as a "post" on their page, it's just in their "stories" so when you go to their instagram page click on their logo, it's a circle up on the left hand side, & after ~15 stories of people showing off the fish they've caught THEN you get to the one with the option to vote. Does that make sense?

ATTN: Instagram users

Please take a moment of your time to vote for our hatchery to receive a donation from vancouverislandfishclub by going to their instagram page and watching through their stories until the option to vote & then click on Tahsis (Thasis as they typed it.)
